Designed for aspiring young hockey players this camp focuses on the fundamental skills of skating and explains the game of hockey in simplest terms. Age and skill appropriate drills focus on how to puck handle, how to make and receive a pass and the basics of how to shoot a puck. Before registering in this camp, participants should be able to skate forward, fall down, and get up without assistance. This camp will include a variety of fun on and off-ice games and activities.

The Hockey Fundamentals camp is designed for players who are new to the game of hockey as well as first year house league players. This program improves overall skills teaching proper technique in power skating, puck control, passing and receiving. The skills introduced allow players to improve their game or provide them with the confidence to join a league. All drills are designed to challenge players in a positive environment. Exciting off-ice games and team building events are planned to ensure the athletes are active and are being challenged.

Power Skating and Hockey Skills is one of our most popular hockey camps. This camp is designed to keep hockey fun and give each individual participant a chance to improve immensely by learning and practicing proper technique in skating (forward and backwards strides, edge control, stopping and balance), stick handling, passing, receiving passes and shooting. Campers are challenged in a positive environment allowing them to improve their game play. Choose this camp if your child needs to improve their overall playing ability and skating ability.

High Performance and Hockey Skills camp is designed to condition and improve the skills of advanced level players that are looking for extra skill development. This program further develops players overall skill, agility and speed. All drills are designed to properly train and improve each participant’s individual ability. This camp includes hockey specific off-ice training (foot work, agility, stretching) as well as additional off-ice sports and games. **New This Summer ** Athletes registered in this camp will receive premium dryland training twice a week from TPA Sports (a high performance training facility that specializes in hockey-focused athletic development). Elite Conditioning Hockey Skills camp is designed for AA/AAA players or "A" players who are striving to transition to a higher level. This camp develops and strengthens each participant’s speed, endurance and overall skills. The drills are challenging and are performed at a level which requires discipline and stamina. This program uses traditional hockey drills with a focus on balance, speed, and agility to enhance a player’s ability to perform on the ice. [Note: if your child currently plays A hockey, please ensure you speak with the Program Manager or Program Coordinator registering into this camp]. **New This Summer ** Athletes registered in this camp will receive premium dryland training from TPA Sports (a high performance training facility that specializes in hockey-focused athletic development). Camps that run from July 2nd – August 16th will include training twice twice a week with TPA Sports. To ramp up for the start of hockey season, all camps that run from August 19th – August 30th, will receive TPA training ALL FIVE DAYS of camp. Canlan’s Leader in Training (LIT) camp is ideal for students that have completed grade 8 and have developed an interest in transitioning from camper to camp instructor. Participants will learn a variety of leadership skills from certified head instructors, including on and off ice programming, camper supervision and basic risk management. Under the supervision of a head instructor, participants will have the opportunity to lead on and off ice games and activities at the end of the week. A certificate will be provided upon completion of this program.
