Sponge Hockey also known as “Spongee” is an adaptation of road hockey however it is played on ice and gets its name from the soft sponge puck that is used. Players wear soft-soled shoes (broomball shoes) and generally do not wear padding except for goalies.
As a result of being on shoes, the game play, strategy and skills differ from traditional ice hockey. Skating skills are not required, so non-skaters can also participate in this unique and exhilarating sport.Grab some friends and join one of our leagues.
